Medieval

The tile designs you'll find in our Medieval series originated from the inspiring patterns we found exploring the medieval abbeys of England in 1983. Having won a grant to travel to England and study tiles from both the Victorian and Medieval time periods, we had a great adventure exploring the English countryside for both churches and abbeys of the time periods. Most of the abbeys are now protected historic sites and tiles can still be found on interior floors and exterior walkways.

Here are a few of our favorite patterns from this trip.
